Café Rouge launches store access guides online
The chain also announced its plan to introduce two-handled cups and portable ramps.
Café Rouge, in partnership with access information provider AccessAble, has launched access guides for its 50 sites via AccessAble app and on the chain’s restaurant’s websites in aid of their customers with disabilities.
The access guides include details from car parking spaces and accessible toilets to hearing loops and lighting levels.
The chain has also updated its signage on easy access toilets from “disabled ” to “accessible” for customers suffering from bowel diseases.
“We firmly believe that everybody should feel comfortable in visiting our restaurants,” Café Rouge brand director Greg Gibbons said in a statement. “Many disabilities are invisible, and something as simple as adding a sign to our easy access toilets, can make a fundamental difference to those with specific needs.”
Café Rouge has also announced its plan to further their accessibility initiatives by introducing two-handled cups for customers with dexterity challenges and portable ramps for branches with stepped access.
