KFC opens 60th Scottish outlet with first Airdrie restaurant
Around 65 jobs have been created across team, leadership, and management roles.
KFC will open its first restaurant in Airdrie, Carlisle Road, on 6 July, marking its 60th location in Scotland.
The outlet is a 249m² drive-thru restaurant and will offer the chain’s standard fried chicken menu, along with a limited-time Sticky BBQ Drip range.
It will also be one of the first locations in Scotland to serve Kwench by KFC, a new drinks line with a dedicated counter.
The restaurant includes seating for 70 customers, four self-order kiosks, two drive-thru windows, 24 parking spaces, and three electric vehicle charging points.
Delivery will be available from launch via Just Eat, Deliveroo, and Uber Eats.
Around 65 jobs have been created across team member, team leader, and management roles, with recruitment still open.
To mark the opening, the first 100 customers will receive promotional merchandise.
A prize wheel promotion will run during the first week, offering menu items and branded items.
The company says the site will take part in daily litter-picking in the surrounding area and will donate surplus food through its redistribution programme, working with The Felix Project to supply food in Airdrie.
The opening is part of KFC’s wider UK and Ireland expansion plan, which includes a reported £1.5b investment, 500 planned restaurant openings over the next decade, and an estimated 7,000 jobs across restaurants and supply chains.
