Caffè Nero reaches 35,000 free coffee milestone for NHS workers
It has reopened 250 stores.
Caffè Nero has given away over 35,000 free coffees throughout May and the first two weeks of June to NHS staff, the company said in an announcement.
The move is said to be part of Caffè Nero’s reopening programme, which has seen 250 stores open their doors for delivery and takeaway since the start of the lockdown.
“These coffees are our way of saying thank for the amazing job NHS staff have been doing, they have looked after us, and we wanted to show our appreciation. As we re-opened more and more stores, it was great to be able to bring the offer to more and more people,” founder adn group CEO Gerry Ford said in a media release.
To commemorate the NHS’s 72nd birthday on 5 July, the chain will again be offering free coffee and hot drinks to NHS staff for the day. Caffè Nero also expects to have over 400 stores open by that time.
