Marks & Spencer removes plastic cutlery from its store

The supermarket now joins the sustainability trend of banning disposable plastic items.

Marks & Spencer have replaced plastic cutlery with wooden forks, spoons and knives with an aim to put in environmental alternatives for all of its outlets.

It is also said that it has stopped producing plastic cutlery and will now be selling the wooden ones that are already available to purchase.

“We’re passionate about cutting out the unnecessary use of plastic and helping our customers reuse and recycle more,” Mike Barry, sustainable business director at M&S, said.
