Mayor of London visits Subway store
Boris Johnson paid a visit to the Uxbridge Subway store (224 Uxbridge High Street) on the 22nd of April.
Johnson was welcomed by Greg Madigan, CEO, SUBWAY UK and Ireland, Charles Stewart, Director of Operations, SUBWAY Greater London, Rusty Warren, SUBWAY Greater London Regional Field Manager, and the sandwich store staff.
Boris Johnson’s visit was part of an ongoing programme of MP constituency engagement where the SUBWAY brand invites MPs to visit their local SUBWAY stores to meet the local franchisee who owns and operates the store, the employees, and hear more about the brand locally and nationally and the ways that the SUBWAY brand leads the Quick Service Restaurant sector in its commitment to achieving public health policy objectives.
Boris Johnson MP said when making a Sub: "It's a champion sandwich, its very good, the trick is slightly toasted and lots of vegetables. The SUBWAY brand has great health messages which you should be telling everyone about."
Greg Madigan, Head of Brand for SUBWAY UK and Ireland stated: "It is important to inform MPs like the Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, about both the SUBWAY® brand's economic contribution to local communities and the UK as a whole, as well as our industry leading health credentials which I hope he feeds into the Government's upcoming Childhood Obesity strategy."
