McDonald's trials parked car delivery
The fast food giant also introduced Apple Pay as a payment option through their app.
McDonald’s is trialling delivery to parked cars in 24 restaurants in the UK and Ireland.
Customers can avail of the service via the My McDonald's app.
The fast food giant also introduced Apple Pay for “those seeking contact-free ways to order and pay through the app,” McDonald’s UK & Ireland CEO Paul Pomroy said.
“We're continually reviewing the solutions we've introduced to ensure they remain practical and enable our teams to work and you to visit safely,” he added.
Pomroy also said they are constantly testing reintroducing additional menu items, but said they will only do so when “we are confident we can bring them back safely.”
“Each new item can put additional pressure on the restaurant teams, so ahead of introducing something new, we work with an open restaurant to test cooking, preparing and serving in high volumes to ensure that it can be brought to all customers safely,” he said.
McDonald's will also test out reusable cups in the United Kingdom next year in an effort to address the environmental toll of disposable cups.
