McDonald's vows to employ 43,000 apprentices by 2025 in Europe
The programme is set to launch in five countries, with plans to expand to other markets in the future.
McDonald’s pledged that 43,000 apprenticeships across Europe will be available by 2025. The move is part of their Youth Opportunity initiative where they aim to reduce the unemployment rates globally.
The said apprenticeship will provide a training ground for young people to to gain practical experience, new skills and qualifications while earning at the same time.
“Across the UK, there are many young people struggling to gain the skills and experience they need to succeed in the workplace,” Harriet Hounsell, chief people officer at McDonald’s UK & Ireland, said.
“By providing opportunities for young people to continue their education, develop their skills and gain qualifications while they earn, we want to help them take the next steps in their career. I’m proud of the progress we’ve made in the UK over the last decade and this new global commitment will help us to do even more in the future,” he added.
