Muffin Break donates over £3,600 for UK Coffee Week

Following its support to UK Coffee Week in April, Muffin Break donated over £3,600 to the initiative to help support clean water projects in coffee growing communities.

During the week of 11th and 17th April, Muffin Break donated 5p from every coffee sold at its UK stores to UK Coffee Week.

The funds will go directly towards supporting Project Waterfall, which has raised a total of £325,000 since 2011 to bring clean water and sanitation to coffee growing communities around the world.

Muffin Break Marketing Manager, Gemma Sandells said: “We are proud to support such a great cause and it’s fantastic to hear the number of people’s lives that will be changed with the help of our donation. We are passionate about ethically and responsibly sourcing the finest coffee beans to serve in our stores, so it was a natural fit for us to be involved in UK Coffee Week.”

Rebecca Hodgson, Programme Manager at The Allegra Foundation, added: ‘We are overwhelmed with Muffin Break’s support for UK Coffee Week and Project Waterfall this year. With their donation, we will be able to change 145 lives in the Toke Kutaye and Chelia districts of Ethiopia in partnership with WaterAid.
