PizzaExpress holds series of summer music sessions
The initiative is part of the pizza chain’s support of music therapy charity Nordoff and Robbins.
PizzaExpress held a series of al fresco performances in celebration of Britain’s musical talent and in support of music therapy charity Nordoff and Robbins.
Called the ‘‘Live Summer Sessions’, customers and passers-by have enjoyed performances by up-and-coming talent, along with big name surprise acts. Having launched in July with a secret performance from pop rock icons McFly at the brand’s PizzaExpress Live venue in Soho, with the band taking to the stage with an acoustic set of their biggest hits including ballads and crowd-pleasers ‘All About You’, ‘Star Girl’ and ‘Obviously’, the series then officially kicked off in Manchester.
Further cementing the brand’s commitment to music, one performance at each location throughout Live Summer Sessions has been given to an emerging artist who entered PizzaExpress’ competition element of the series for a chance of being awarded the opportunity to record an album via PX Records and perform at one of PizzaExpress’ music venues.
In addition, one of PizzaExpress’ very own team members has been given the opportunity to take to the stage in Brighton after winning an internal competition to perform at Live Summer Sessions.
