Pret A Manger delivers over 750,000 products to NHS, homeless shelters

CEO Pano Christou said the chain’s teams have been working to ensure supplies are not wasted after closing.

Over 750,000 products from Pret A Manger have been provided to communities, including workers from the NHS and homeless shelters.

The move was done after temporarily closing its namesake stores after the government’s announced lockdown.

“As soon as we closed...we still had £2 million of food within our supply chain. So the focus once closing was how to ensure that we don’t waste food. Our teams have been working night and day delivering,” Pret CEO Pano Christou said in an interview with the BBC.

Pret also permanently closed its EAT brand less than a year after its acquisition.
