Pure opens first airport site at Gatwick North
It is the chain’s 22nd company-owned outlet.
Healthy food-to-go group Pure has opened its first airport site at Gatwick’s North Terminal.
The site, originally planned for opening on 13 March, is the 22nd company-owned site for the London-based group that furloughed most of its workforce from March to June.
Pure said it will offer food-to-go to airport visitors in under a minute, with the menu carefully designed to offer easy-to-eat, safe, hygienic and portable food that’s also ideal for eating on-board.
Breakfast options include toasties, Super Eggs and birchers with wholegrain baguettes, wraps and salads served all-day alongside organic or vegan milk coffee, and a wide range of snacks. Free still and sparkling water is also available on tap.
The new shop has also been adjusted to meet COVID-19-related safety measures with screens installed at till points, hand sanitizer stations and limited touch points. In line with company wide measures, all staff have daily temperature checks.
“We were devastated not to be able to open the doors at Pure Gatwick in March but the closure gave us time to ensure that the store is Covid safe and meets the new standards required. We are extremely grateful for the ongoing support of the Gatwick airport team and our own brilliant team that has risen to this challenge with unprecedented patience, enthusiasm and determination. It has long been our dream to open an airport site and we are excited to continue our plan to continue expansion into high footfall sites,” Pure founder Spencer Craig said in a media release.
