Deliveroo ties up with Vita Mojo to create Lent survival kit
The kit includes sniffable patches of chocolate, coffee, red wine, beer and bacon flavours.
Deliveroo has partnered with Vita Mojo to create a Lent survival pack, a set of sniffable skin patches to satiate cravings. The patches, which include chocolate, coffee and red wine scents, will be available from Vita Mojo on Deliveroo until the 29th of March whilst stocks last.
Deliveroo saw a 23% drop off in orders for desserts at the beginning of Lent as Brits gave up the sweet stuff, whilst alcohol saw a 35% drop in popularity on the app. However, the orders crept back just three weeks into Lent as Brits started to crack under the strain of their cravings.
Professor Charles Spence, experimental psychologist, said, “According to the experts, what we smell constitutes 75-95% of what we taste. Indeed, the research shows that the more sensations we get when eating, and that includes the more aromas that we are aware of, then the sooner we become sated (i.e., full-up). As such, the intelligent use of food aromas can be used to help curb our appetite.”
Joe Groves from Deliveroo said, “We know people give up the foods and drinks they love for Lent, and those 40 days can be really tough. That’s why we’re excited to provide our customers a safe haven from temptation. We hope these patches will give people a fun and satisfying way to enjoy the delicious things they crave most, without actually breaking their Lent promise.”
The Lent Patches are available for free from Vita Mojo exclusively on Deliveroo when ordering the Crispy Chicken Thigh until March 31st while stocks last.
