Din Tai Fung's first UK store to launch at December
The chain’s upcoming outlet will feature modern and traditional Taiwanese architecture.
Din Tai Fung has confirmed that they will be making their UK debut in Covent Garden on the first week of December.
The new flagship site will be a 250-seater restaurant that will have an East meets West style that will also house modern and traditional Taiwanese architecture which is said to be the first of all of their outlets to have.
The architect behind this is Song Yih of Song Design Studios whose projects also include some Din Tai Fung stores in Taiwan, Singapore, Dubai and Thailand.
The site will be decorated with original oriental pieces such as handcrafted Chinese wood carvings salvaged that is said to be from old buildings from China. The walls are sculpted with grey curved brick roof tiles. Paintings of Singaporean painter Tan Oe Pang will also be showcased.
Din Tai Fung will still continue to serve signature dishes such as their steamed pork dumplings. It will also feature Taiwan-inspired cocktails and traditional Chinese tea through their cocktail bar.
The Taiwanese chain currently has branches in Japan, USA, Singapore, China, South Korea, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Australia, Thailand, Macau, United Arab Emirates and the Philippines.
