Greggs in talks to join a legal case against truck makers

Road Haulage Association is fighting for compensation.

According to Interactive Investor, the bakery and food-to-go retailer Greggs PLC is considering participating in a GBP4.00 billion legal case against a group of truck manufacturers fined for price fixing over 14 years.

Greggs is among "a number of major companies" weighing whether to join a claim being brought by the Road Haulage Association.

The RHA is fighting for compensation which it says is owed to claimants such as DAF, Daimler and Iveco, after five truck manufacturers were fined nearly GBP2.7 billion last year by the European Commission for operating a cartel between 1997 and 2011.
