35% of Greggs' customers pair bacon rolls with a latte
Whilst 17% are choosing cappuccino and 13% would like a cup of tea.
New data shows that Greggs is the most known retailer for on-the-go bacon sandwiches and sold enough in 2017. Greggs first introduced its bacon sandwich back in 2010.
Greggs has also revealed which hot drinks customers like to enjoy with their bacon buttie. Over a third (35%) of breakfast customers go for a latte, with 17% choose a cappuccino and 13% enjoy a cup of tea
Also, over half of Greggs’ customers (55%) choose tomato sauce to accompany their bacon roll.
Greggs commercial director Malcolm Copland said, “Breakfast is the most important meal of the day for many of our customers so we pride ourselves on making their days that bit better by freshly preparing every breakfast sandwich giving people a tasty way to start their day.
The brand's breakfast range is served every day until 11am. The range includes traditional classics such as bacon rolls and croissants, as well as gluten free porridge, fresh fruit and a range of hot drinks and freshly ground Fairtrade coffee.
