Pret A Manger to implement second round of pay hike amidst inflation
Baristas will be amongst the highest paid with £13.75 earnings per hour.
Pret A Manger declared that it will invest an additional £10m in staff pay to boost its workforce amidst the increasing cost of living.
From 1 December 2022, all workers will get a 5% pay rise. Over 8,600 shop staff includingTeam Members, Baristas and Shop Managers “will see an average baseline pay increase of 13% within a year, which is currently above inflation.”
“Pret baristas will be amongst the highest paid in the industry, now able to earn up to £13.75 per hour,” read the statement.
It will be the second consecutive year that Pret implemented a pay hike in the same year.
“This makes it the company’s biggest pay investment in its 36-year history, in recognition of the hard work and commitment of its people,” it said.
