American sandwich chain Jon Smith Subs opens first UK shop in Hammersmith

A second outlet is being planned in Bournemouth.

Jon Smith Subs, an American sandwich chain known for their marinated grilled sirloin steak and real chicken breast subs, has opened its first site in the UK.

The shop, located in Hammersmith, currently employs ten people. Its franchise owner acquired funding from HSBC UK, which was also used to renovate and fit-out the restaurant, including kitchen equipment and the shop interior.

“We were incredibly excited to have opened the first John Smith Subs in the UK and the response to our London restaurant has been overwhelming,” Omar Al-Magribi, owner of Jon Smith Subs London, said. “Its instant success has meant we’re already planning our second restaurant, which we hope to open soon in Bournemouth.”
