Black Sheep Coffee expands across Scotland with over 10 new sites

This brings its total presence in the country to more than 21 locations.

Black Sheep Coffee is expanding its footprint in Scotland, opening more than 10 new stores this year.

The move will bring its total presence in the country to over 21 locations.

The company says the expansion is linked to job growth, with around 300 roles across Scotland, including 94 corporate and 205 franchise positions, and more expected as new sites open.

The brand already operates in cities such as Glasgow and Edinburgh and is now moving into additional areas, including Ayr, Glenrothes, Stirling, Clydebank, and Inverness.

Its growth model relies on franchise partners running individual stores, with outlets shaped by local operators rather than a central template.

In Glasgow, one franchise team converted a long-closed former Odeon cinema on Renfrew Street into a store.

In Edinburgh’s Bruntsfield, another team redeveloped a disused former Royal Bank of Scotland site.

Performance in some locations has been strong. At Silverburn, the chain is reported to be amongst the top five food-and-beverage sellers in the centre.
