Burger King withholds rent payments

Its boss said he could not see the firm paying for some time to come.

The chief executive of Burger King’s UK operations said the fast food chain has made its rent payments for April.

In an interview with BBC’s Today programme, Alasdair Murdoch said he could not see the firm paying for some time to come.

Burger King has more than 500 UK restaurants. Murdoch previously said last month that the chain would be withholding rent payments.
