Chapati Man sells New York master franchise rights
The brand is looking to capitalise on the state’s growing food trucks and kiosk scene.
Spicy Indian Wrap festival and event catering business Chapati Man is officially coming to New York.
Founders Chris and Andrea Rai have sold the master franchise rights to The Chaat is Safe Inc., headed by Tejas Vemparala.
“Food trucks and kiosks are part of the city scene over there, so it’s a natural fit,’’ Chapati Man co-founder Andrea Rai explained.
”We’ve observed the growth of the popularity of Chapati Man in the United Kingdom and are confident we can hit the ground running here in New York, one of the icon cities of street food,” Vemparala added.
The new move builds on Chapati Man’s recent sale of their franchise rights in London and the master franchise rights for Sri Lanka. The brand previously said it is eyeing further UK and international expansion.
