Jamaica Blue celebrates first anniversary
The pilot UK store opened last year in Cambridge’s Lion Yard shopping centre, with its unique contemporary dishes with a twist.
Jamaica Blue said that since opening last December the store has continued to see sales growth and welcomes new customers each week. This is helped by the variety of fresh food on offer in store and the menu changes seasonally to ensure that regular customers are able to try new products. Additionally, the store has now introduced daily specials, so there is always something new to offer to customers.
Jamaica Blue’s Cambridge Store Manager, Nerissa Bancroft, said: “We have enjoyed a fantastic first year in Cambridge and feel honoured to be the pilot UK store. We pride ourselves in providing a relaxing, hideaway atmosphere for our customers and aim to give them the ideal place to escape from the hustle and bustle of the busy shopping centre. We also offer a take away service for customers with no time to dine in, but who don’t want to compromise on quality. Our Christmas menu is currently available in store and has proved very popular with shoppers so far.”
Lisa Brook, General Manager at Foodco UK, said: “We are delighted that our first UK Jamaica Blue store continues to be such a success. It has enjoyed a fantastic first year of trading and we are excited for what the next year will bring, not only for our Cambridge store, but also for our expansion across the UK. We are currently in the planning phase of potentially opening four new stores in the UK in 2016, so there’s lots of exciting opportunities coming up for us next year. Our aim is that one day Jamaica Blue will become as recognised in the UK as it is in Australia - so we are definitely the ones to watch.”
