Shaftesbury signs three new dessert brands to open in Chinatown
The upcoming stores are expected to open this summer.
Shaftesbury Chinatown PLC has announced its three new dessert brand signings.
It includes Kova Patisserie, a Japanese fusion dessert specialist. The brand will offer its signature mille crêpes and will introduce new tea and fruit drink menu.
Next is Taiyakiya, a new concept that comes from the people behind Cuppacha Bubble Tea. The brand offers a range of traditional taiyaki, savoury croissant taiyaki and taiyaki fish-shaped cones with soft-serve ice cream and creative toppings.
Completing the trio is Meet Fresh restaurant. The location will be the brand’s UK flagship store, which has approximately 55 covers and offers authentic Taiwanese desserts, including Taro Q balls, herbal jelly and smooth tofu pudding.
“Kova Patisserie, Taiyakiya and Meet Fresh are all brands that offer a fusion of modern trends with traditions from the Far East, perfectly reflecting our vision for this iconic area of London’s West End. They join a line-up of dessert brands leading the way in Chinatown including Mamasons, Tsujiri, Yolkin and Bubblewrap,” Shaftesbury’s head of group restaurant strategy Julia Wilkinson said in a statement.
