Slim Chickens to open store in Southampton's WestQuay Shopping Centre
Its operator Boparan Restaurant Group will also take part in the government’s Eat Out to Help Out scheme.
Boparan Restaurant Group (BRG) announced it is opening a store in Southampton’s WestQuay Shopping Centre by August, as a result of its franchise development agreement with JRK Restaurants.
The partnership, reported in February, will see the partners open an initial five Slim Chickens outlets across the South Coast.
BRG had already opened seven outlets in London, Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff and Kent in two years.
“We are delighted to partner with JRK in what is a significant move for everyone associated with the Slim Chickens brand. As a result of this new signing, we have taken the first steps in our ambitious sub-franchise plans to fast track the roll out of Slim Chickens and introduce the brand to more towns and cities across the UK,” BRG franchise director Judd Williams said.
“Slim Chickens is undoubtedly one of the most exciting new brands in the market and we are pleased to partner with BRG to increase Slim’s presence across the UK,” added JRK chairman Karim Kassam.
The first restaurant to open as part of the new agreement will be located within Southampton’s WestQuay Shopping Centre, set to open in August.
BRG, which also owns the newly-acquired Carluccio’s, The Cinnamon Collection, FishWorks, Ed’s Easy Diner and Giraffe, said its entire portfolio of 70 restaurants will be participating in the government’s Eat Out to Help Out scheme.
Carluccio’s, Fishworks, Giraffe, Slim Chickens and Ed’s Easy Diner have extended the offer by removing the £10 discount limit to give guests 50% off all food and soft drinks purchased.
In addition, Carluccio’s, Fishworks and Giraffe have also launched a wine discount to complement the scheme, offering £10 off any bottle of wine.
The Cinnamon Club, Cinnamon Kitchen Battersea and Cinnamon Bazaar will also be offering 50% off up to £10 per person.
