Smashburger brand Dumbo expands in London with new Soho outlet

The menu spans burgers, vegetarian options, and tempura-battered chicken nuggets.

French smashburger brand Dumbo is set to open its second UK site at 37 Berwick Street, Soho, after signing a 550 sq ft unit with Shaftesbury Capital.

The West End opening marks Dumbo’s latest move into the UK market.

Recent arrivals across Shaftesbury Capital’s Soho estate include Breadstall and Saltwater on Berwick Street, alongside Padella on Kingly Street and Ria’s Detroit-style pizza on Foubert’s Place.

The announcement follows the relocation of Darjeeling Express from Kingly Court to Rupert Street.

Shaftesbury Capital retained the restaurant within its portfolio, allowing the female-led Indian restaurant to move into a larger site.

Dumbo was founded in Paris in 2019 by Charles Ganem and Samuel Nataf and has become known for popularising the smashburger format in Europe.

The menu centres on burgers, alongside vegetarian options and chicken nuggets served in tempura batter.
