Soboro Bakery launches at Cambridge
The Asian-inspired bakery opened on July 14 at The Lion Yard shopping centre in Cambridge.
Soboro is the first of its kind in the UK, selling a wide selection of authentic Japanese and Korean delicacies plus a collection of British favourites. The new cafe will be running an introductory 50% discount on food between Monday 17th July and Sunday 23rd July.
The arrival of Soboro has also created 26 new jobs for Cambridge residents.
Open from breakfast through to early evening, Soboro’s food will be made fresh every day by a team of trained patissiers and bakers. The offering includes a range of Korean and Japanese pastries – matcha croissant, yuzu lemon & cheese rolled cake, and chicken katsu sandwich, alongside more traditional high street classics like a ham and cheese baguette, or an egg mayonnaise sandwich.
The restaurant can house around 75 people inside. Soboro also uses its state-of-the-art Spirit coffee machine and has created its own arabica blend.
Business development manager Darren Church said, “The high street is full of places selling sandwiches and pastries but we believe that British customers love to try anything different so long as it’s tasty and exciting. Soboro is going to be a place where people are going to want to meet friends, relax with a coffee or just grab something wonderful to take away. It’s not quite like anything else around and we’re delighted to be bringing the first Soboro to Cambridge.
