Sticks’n’Sushi to open first Swedish restaurant in Stockholm in 2027
The venue is expected to create 60 local jobs.
Sticks'n'Sushi will open its first Swedish location in Stockholm in spring 2027, as the company continues its European expansion.
The opening follows plans to enter the Czech market in autumn 2026.
The 166-seat restaurant will be located at Grev Turegatan 6 and will include a 16-seat private dining room for private dinners and group events.
The venue is expected to create 60 local jobs.
The Stockholm opening is the first step in the group’s Swedish plans, with two further restaurants planned in the capital before any expansion to other Swedish cities.
The restaurant’s interiors will be designed by Swiss-German architecture practice Diener & Diener, with a design approach combining Scandinavian minimalism with Japanese influences.
The space will feature dark timber, sculptural elements, and a pared-back material palette, with areas designed for both casual visits and larger occasions.
A central bar will serve drinks and Japanese-inspired dishes for guests dropping in without a full dining reservation.
The menu will follow the group’s established format of sushi, sashimi, salads, and grilled skewers served either individually or through set menus.
Signature dishes include Ebi Bites, tempura shrimp with miso aioli, lime, and chilli, and the Maki Maki selection of four house rolls.
Sharing menus will include As Good As It Gets, a selection of popular dishes alongside handrolls, maki, and kushiyaki skewers.
Grilled dishes will include Shōyu Tebasaki, chicken wings marinated with garlic, ginger, tamari, and soy; Gindara No Miso, miso-glazed black cod; and Aka Ebi, shrimp with gochujang and garlic butter.
The drinks menu will feature sake, Japanese teas, cocktails, spirits, and beer, including Sticks’n’Sushi’s Japanese Rice Lager, produced in collaboration with Danish brewery Mikkeller.
