Subway opens 80th store in UK and Ireland with forecourt retailer Applegreen
The store includes digital menu boards and revamped fresh veggie display.
Subway has announced that it has opened its 80th store in the UK and Ireland with petrol forecourt retailer Applegreen.
Located at the Millfield Shopping Centre in Balbriggan, Republic of Ireland, the site is expected to serve its signature subs, flatbreads and salads – targeting drivers, shoppers and local residents.
The store also features Subway's new Fresh Forward décor, featuring a bright new colour palette, clean lines and customer-focused touches, such as digital menu boards, free-to-use charging ports and a revamped fresh veggie display.
Applegreen has been a Subway partner since 2013, opening its first store in Gorey. The forecourt retailer now has 49 Subway stores at its sites in the Republic of Ireland, 26 in Great Britain and five in Northern Ireland, with plans for further stores in the future.
Non-traditional development
Through its partnerships, such as with Applegreen, Subway now has more than 800 stores in non-traditional locations in the UK and Ireland, including hospitals, transport hubs, universities and colleges, petrol forecourts and convenience stores.
