Where is Taco Bell Headed to Next?
Mexican-inspired QSR Taco Bell is set to ramp up its expansion in Europe, and in the UK, as it opens its second restaurant in Sheffield this coming Sunday.
Currently, Taco Bell operates one restaurant in Sheffield, and this second opening is in response to robust demand in the area.
“We have had a fantastic response from Taco Bell fans in Sheffield since the opening of Ecclesall Road last year, and with a great local partner in our franchisee North Gate Fast Food, we are excited to be opening our second restaurant in the city,” Nick Dawson, General Manager, Taco Bell UK & Europe, said in a press statement.
When it opens on New Devonshire Street on Sunday, the new 50-seat Taco Bell restaurant will feature a youthful, urban design influenced by the brand’s Mexican and Californian roots, as well as an open kitchen to showcase the store’s food preparation techniques. For convenience, the restaurant will also offer free Wi-Fi and charging points for mobile devices.
Together with the opening its new Sheffield restaurant, Taco Bell is also set to offer a new plate design: open, basket-style plates for combo or sharable items.
This design, first launched in South Korea late last year, showcases Taco Bell’s food items and will be a “perfect fit for the UK’s High Street locations and fans,” the press statement read.
Taco Bell, founded in 1962 in Downey, California, is said to be the world’s leading Mexican-inspired QSRs. A brand of American food conglomerate Yum! Brands, Inc., Taco Bell serves items such as tacos, burritos, and other Mexican specialties to over 36 million customers weekly, worldwide.
At present, Taco Bell—together with over 350 franchise groups—operates over 6,000 restaurants in the United States as well as 250 other restaurants across the globe.
