TGI Fridays taps former UK managing director to lead global growth

Broad previously served as MD of TGI Fridays UK from 1997 to 2001.

TGI Fridays has tapped Phil Broad as president of its global brand.

Broad previously served as managing director of TGI Fridays UK from 1997 to 2001 and returned to the company in April 2025 as president of international franchising, where he led expansion efforts across global markets.

As president, Broad will oversee growth initiatives across both domestic and international operations.

The company is targeting more than 1,000 locations worldwide and £1.5b ($2b) in annual revenue by 2030 under its “1-2-3 Strategic Vision.”

That strategy includes changes to menus and beverages, updates to restaurant atmospheres, expanded digital platforms, value-focused pricing efforts, and initiatives aimed at improving the customer experience.

TGI Fridays said recent developments include new agreements for over 150 planned locations globally and the continuation of its TGI Elf Days promotion.
