Which Chain has Just Announced Its 1000th Apprentice?
Starbucks made announcement at start of National Apprentice Week.
Starbucks have announced that their Starbucks Apprenticeships program, launched in 2012, has just had its 1,000th graduate.
The program, which gives its apprentices training and education in retail management, is particularly relevant to the group as almost half of their partners are under the age of 24.
This year the chain plan to offer up to 450 Level 2 apprenticeships, a 12 month program where participants are trained in artisan and customer service skills, and 80 Level 3 apprenticeships, which is an advanced apprenticeship in leadership and management.
Speaking of the milestone, Lisa Robbins, director of Partner Resources for Starbucks UK said "With 21 graduated apprentices now store managers, and 57 shift supervisors, it proves to us that apprenticeships for young people are a genuine alternative to academic study and are a real path to a retail career. We... want to bust the myth that a vocational route is not as credible as pursuing higher education".
