Pret A Manger US to pay $875,000 for underpayment of staff

The chain has been accused of time shaving their employees.

Pret A Manger USA will be paying US$875,000 (£671,000) in settling a class action lawsuit accusing them of underpaying their staff in their New York stores.

This is the second time the chain in the said country faced underpayment issues. Last 2014, they paid US$910,000 (£697,000) for it.

"We are absolutely committed to making sure all our team members are paid for all the hours that they work,” Pret told City A.M.

The news came after facing issues of two girls dying from allergic reactions from their sandwiches in the UK.
