McDonald’s in the US has joined Popeyes, Chick-fil-A and Taco Bell in the chicken wars with testing out a crispy chicken sandwich item in Tennessee and Texas until 26 January 2020. According to CNN, the chicken sandwich is made with fried chicken filet topped with butter and crinkle-cut pickles on a potato roll. Read more here.

Dunkin’ Brands has announced the appointment of Scott Murphy, formerly Dunkin’ US COO, as its America’s president, assuming the role from Dave Hoffman who will remain as the group’s CEO. “Scott is a rare leader who is both strategic and impactful. Jack in the Box has started looking for a new CEO to replace Lenny Comma who has been in the position since 2014, Bloomberg has reported. The report noted that the chain has hired search firm Spencer Stuart to assist in the transition. Read more here.
Pizza Hut US’ brand chief Marianne Radley has left the company after 22 months since assuming the role, a Yum Brands spokesperson has confirmed to The Drum. The report noted that Radley was responsible for directing brand strategy, marketing and advertising efforts, customer acquisition, food innovation and culinary initiatives for the pizza chain’s US business. Subway in the US has partnered with brand management company Yext to enhance the brand’s guest experience for customers seeking information about its restaurants, including menus, addresses and holiday hours across more than 150 search platforms like Google, Alexa, Siri, and Facebook. Yext will also create custom site pages for the sandwich giant’s over 30,000 restaurants. Read more here.
White Castle in the US has voluntarily recalled some frozen products for possible listeria contamination. According to CNN, the products include a limited number of frozen six-pack cheeseburgers, frozen six-pack hamburgers, frozen six-pack pack jalapeno cheeseburgers, 16-pack hamburgers and 16-pack cheeseburgers.
