EXCLUSIVE: Slim Chickens is ready to supercharge growth with multi-unit franchising strategy
They plan to open up to 10 new stores this year.
The master franchisee of Slim Chickens in the UK and Ireland is set to enter into talks with potential investors to pick up the rate of their store expansion in the region.
In a media release, Boparan Restaurant Group (BRG) chairman Laurie Mcilwee said investor partnership is the “ideal” way to accelerate the roll out of the US-based chicken brand.
Speaking to QSR Media in a separate interview, the company revealed plans to open “up to 10 new stores,” either franchised or company-owned, this year.
“Our goal is to open at pace in the right locations. Where partnership with a franchisee is the best way to achieve this, we’ll do that, and alongside franchise expansion we’ll continue to develop company-owned restaurants too,” a spokesperson for the brand explained.
Currently, the company operates six Slim Chicken stores across the two markets, with an upcoming store set to open in Bluewater in February.
BRG indicated that they offering multi-unit opportunities for potential franchisees.
“Franchising has always been the plan. Now that Slim Chickens is established, receiving a great response from customers and performing strongly, it is the right time to accelerate roll-out and bring the Slim Chicken experience to more new customers across the country. Expansion with franchise partners is an important part of our growth strategy for the brand,” the spokesperson added.
