‘Natasha's Law' to require food chains to put allergen warnings
The proposed law was formed after the death of a teenage girl due to an allergic reaction.
A proposed law, coined as ‘Natasha’s Law’, is said to force restaurant operators to put allergen warnings on their offerings, following the death of a teenage girl who suffered an allergic reaction to one of Pret A Manger’s sandwiches.
According to a report by The Daily Mail, Environment Secretary Michael Gove said that it could be introduced in the coming weeks. A consultation could also be held on the end of January.
The proposed legislation was formed after the death of 15-year old Natasha Laperouse who suffered an allergic reaction to one of Pret A Manger’s sandwiches. Pret A Manger vowed to make changes on their allergen labelling policies.
