The group owns Wagamama and Frankie & Benny’s brands.
TMR Capital, who owns a 1.75% stake in hospitality group The Restaurant Group is said to be aiming to buy two of the group’s four divisions, a report by The Telegraph said.
According to the report, the British Virgin Islands-based investors are eyeing to bid for TRG’s pub division Brunning & Price, and its casual dining chains. No price has been discussed but TMR Capital is reportedly pushing for more detailed financial information ahead of a possible bid.
The report quoted a TRG spokesman who said that the company would “continue to review our wider strategic options” but wouldn’t comment on speculative approaches.
