Bidcorp reclaims KFC delivery contract in the UK

The firm had been taking back some of the KFC deliveries since late 2018.

The UK business of South African food services firm Bidcorp has won back its entire KFC delivery contract it following its loss last year.

Bidcorp, which got separated from Bidvest and is listed on the JSE in May 2016, suffered a setback in the UK market when KFC’s parent company Yum Brands ended a long-standing contract with Bidvest Logistics.

KFC switched to DHL for its chicken deliveries but eventually went back to Bidcorp following a public outcry after delivery problems left hundreds of restaurants without chicken. Bidcorp CEO Bernard Berson said the firm had been taking back the KFC deliveries since late 2018 but was only able to do so in June 2019.

Berson spoke on the sidelines of Bidcorp’s presentation for the year ended 30 June.
