Carluccio's enters administration as other chains mull future

Carluccio's has gone into administration, citing "challenging trading conditions" exacerbated by the COVID-19 outbreak.

Appointed administrator FRP is said to be "urgently looking at options" for the future of the firm.

The Italian restaurant chain operates about 100 branches employing 2,000 people.

Earlier, it reportedly had emergency merger talks with burger chain Byron, a chain that is also considering insolvency options.
