Costa Coffee apologises for alleged ‘misleading' labels on Christmas toastie
Angered customers said that the labelling only mentioned "sweet cranberry sauce on cheese-topped bread".
Costa Coffee has issued an apology after angry vegetarian customers have taken to social media, stating that the chain’s Christmas Toastie contained turkey and pork slices.
“We’d like to apologise to the customer for any confusion caused. We can confirm that the product has clear labelling and states on the back of the pack and on the fridge label that the toastie contains turkey and pork,” a spokesperson for Costa Coffee said.
The coffee chain also assured that all of their pre-packaged food has labels that contain its nutritional information, including allergens.
“All product information is available online and in store and we would always encourage customers that are unsure to have a discussion with a member of the store team, who will have been advised on how to help customers make informed choices,” the spokesperson added.
