
Domino's Pizza Group reports 5.9% rise in like-for-like sales for first half of 2018
The group's system sales were up by 12.8%.
Domino's Pizza Group plc, the master franchisee of Domino's Pizza in the UK and Ireland, has reported a 5.9% rise in like-for-like sales in first half of the year.
Along with 22 new stores, the group's system and ROI sales amounted to £565.1 million, or 8.3% higher compared to their last interim report.
Group system sales overall were up by 12.8%, amounting to £616.6 million.
The company noted their digital investments "to support franchisee efficiency and drive customer engagement" at part of their overall strategy, as well as their plans to invest in new e-commerce and app platforms, focus in acquired businesses, and ramping up their Warrington Supply Chain Centre operations to 130 stores.
“It’s been another good trading period for Domino’s. In the UK, despite continued consumer uncertainty, we’ve achieved further like-for-like growth by maintaining our clear focus on product, service and value for customers," Domino's Pizza Group Chief Executive Officer David Wild said. "Our ongoing investments in supply chain infrastructure and our IT platform will support future growth and customer engagement. Domino’s is proud to be one of the most successful franchise businesses in the UK, and we will continue to work with our franchisee partners to promote the brand and the strength of the system."
