Gail's Bakery sees parent's profit plunge
The news follows after the chain’s sales has been delayed.
Gail’s Bakery parent company Bread Holdings had their full-year profits turn to £142,000, which is £2 million off from the results last year.
The company said that the tightened competition in the retail and wholesale sector dragged it down. However, they also revealed that their revenues grew to £86.4 million from £79 million.
Bread Holdings is also chaired by Luke Johnson, who’s also the chairman of the struggling Patisserie Valerie chain. Last October, it has been reported that the sales of Gail’s Bakery has been delayed.
