KFC takes down poster ad shown near school

The UK’s advertising watchdog says the brand violated the CAP Code.

KFC has taken down its Mars Krushem poster ad after being alerted by Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) that they are violating advertising laws.

The featured Mars Krushems drink is said to be high in fat, salt or sugar (HFSS) and was located on a telephone kiosk within 100 metres near the entrance of a primary school.

The Obesity Health Alliance complained that the ad was directed to children.

The fast food chain immediately reacted to the situation by contacting their media agency, and made sure that the same ad won’t be seen near a school.

KFC has also assured the ASA that the occurrence happened due to human error.
