McDonald's reports £331m net profit
The fast food giant says it is continuing to develop its delivery platform.
McDonald's notched a higher profit after tax despite decreased company turnover.
According to their report ended 31 December 2018, the fast food giant had earned £331m profit for the financial year, compared to 2017's £276m.
Turnover for 2018 was at £1.51m compared to £1.59m in the previous period.
Gross profit increased to £590m compared to 2017's £544m, citing higher sales within company-owned restaurants and positive sales growth from franchised restaurants.
“The company's high street estate continues to be impacted by declining retail footfall, and we have tried to mitigate this risk through investment in the customer experience across our estate, including our high street stores. The company also continues to develop its home delivery platform, to capitalise on the growth of this market segment,” the report stated.
