Pret A Manger nearing a deal to buy EAT: report
The chain is said to be looking to turn EAT sites into Veggie Prets.
Pret A Manger is reportedly nearing a deal to buy smaller rival Eat in a bid to ramp up its offerings for vegetarian and vegan consumers.
Citing sources, the Evening Standard reported that the British sandwich and coffee shop chain would either buy most of Eat's shops or the business entirely.
Pret A Manger, bought by Luxembourg-based JAB Holdings in 2018, is said to be looking to turn EAT sites into “Veggie Prets”, to cater to more health-conscious customers who prefer plant-based meals.
“We never comment on rumour or speculation,” a Pret spokesperson told QSR Media in an email.
