Prezzo braces for court showdown with landlords amidst restructuring: report
The brand announced last month that it plans to close 46 outlets.
Prezzo, the Italian high street restaurant chain, is bracing for a court showdown with landlords over the closure of a third of its sites, a report by Sky News said.
Prezzo is reportedly planning to write to the owners of its 143-strong estate on Tuesday to notify them of the legal process through which it intends to shut unprofitable stores.
The report cited city sources that the restaurant chain intends to use a formal restructuring plan to enact an overhaul of the business.
Last week, Prezzo announced that it was closing down 46 outlets. It was reported that rising energy bills and double-digit cost inflation on items including dough balls and spaghetti had hit the financial performance of many of its sites.
