
The Restaurant Group's sales up by 1% in FY18 as Wagamama Trades Well
The company said that Wagamama has continued to trade well during the festive season.
The Restaurant Group has revealed their financial results for FY18 with total sales growth of 1.0%.
Like-for-like sales went down by 2.0% during the period, but increased following the World Cup. The group closed the year with 21 pub openings and 21 new concessions.
"2018 has been a pivotal year for the Group in which we have opened a record number of new sites in both our Pubs and Concessions businesses as well as acquiring an extremely high quality business in Wagamama,” Andy McCue, CEO of The Restaurant Group, said.
The company also mentioned that Wagamama has continued to trade well during the festive period.
“The enlarged business is now orientated strongly towards growth with a number of exciting opportunities ahead. We are focused on executing on our multi-pronged growth strategy and plans for the site conversions and cost synergies are progressing well."
Aside from their recent acquisition of Wagamama last December, the Restaurant Group also owns Joe’s Kitchen, Chiquito, TRG Concessions and Firejack’s.
