Wagamama wins trademark dispute against instant noodle brand Wakayama

The instant noodle brand was prevented from registering their products due to alleged similarities in look and branding style.

The UK Intellectual Property Office ruled that the instant noodle brand Wakayama was resembling the Wagamama restaurant chain’s trademark.

According to a report by Lawdit Solicitors, the ruling has stopped the attempt of Wakayama to register their products and is also fined to pay Wagamama £1,000.

The Intellectual Property Office also said that allowing the registration of the instant noodle brand may bring confusion to the customers.
