McDonald’s offers Player Escort place at UEFA EURO 2016 for fans
McDonald’s UK called on young footballers to share their best goal celebrations, for the chance to win a place at UEFA EURO 2016 in France.
McDonald’s Head of Welsh Football and #CelebrateBetter ambassador, Ryan Giggs, said, “Scoring a goal is an incredible feeling, whether in the park with your mates or in front of 90,000 people. Nothing comes close to that emotion when the ball crosses the line.”
“A player’s celebration is their unique way of sharing that elation with everyone around them. The goal against Arsenal in the 1999 FFA Cup Semi-Final is a celebration I will never forget, though I can’t remember why I celebrated like that. It was pure passion. We want to see grassroots footballers share their celebrations and we’re looking for the most creative, passionate and fun celebrations they can come up with.”
McDonald’s Head of English Football and #CelebrateBetter ambassador, Martin Keown, said, “I may not have been the most prolific goal scorer and have sometimes been on the receiving end of a few infamous celebrations but I remember scoring two goals against Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League and I gave Dennis Bergkamp a piggyback round the pitch!”
“Everyone loves to celebrate and we want to see your best efforts by sharing them with @BetterPlayUK on twitter using #CelebrateBetter.”
To enter, parents should share a picture of their child’s best celebration with @BetterPlayUK twitter account using #CelebrateBetter.
In addition all entries will also be considered for ‘Celebration of the Day’ during this year’s Community Football Week (27th-31st July) which will see one winner win a pair of tickets to this year’s FA Community Shield presented by McDonald’s. Tickets will be given away on a daily basis from the 27th - 31st July.
