Square Pie holds Pie World Cup
The brand is holding a competition for the world's pies looking for a contender to name Pie World Cup Champion.
During the contest, Square Pie will sell the pies alongside its usual range in our restaurants on the day the respective teams are playing, up to 8 specials per day. The pies which sells the most by 31st October 2015 will be crowned champion.
There will be 20 new pies, changing every day, across 6 restaurants, the brand said.
Square Pie has also announced a partnershipwith Rugby World Cup 2003 winner Lawrence Dallaglio’s charity the Dallaglio Foundation. The Dallaglio Foundation nurtures and develops the essential skills of disadvantaged young people, increasing their sense of worth, self-confidence and self-esteem.
“Our target is to raise over £20,000 for them over the Pie World Cup and then next 12 months so please get involved if you can,” the brand said.
“The Foundation is taking over our steak and ale for the duration of the tournament and we will give 10p to them for every steak & ale pie we sell during the entire period of the World Cup in both our restaurants and across our supermarket customers. Only those sold in restaurants on the days the teams play will count towards the Pie World Cup competition, but we’ll donate for every pie sold whatever the day.”
Customers who pay £3.00 can also win a prize rugby shirt from the 2003 England Rugby shirt signed by Lawrence Dallaglio.
