PizzaExpress serves up a new Christmas menu
This Christmas, the pizza chain will unveil a menu offering contemporary twists, ranging from a hog roast and stuffing Romana pizza recipe, to zingy jaffa profiteroles, to creamy cocktails.
The new Porchetta Natale Romana is a twist on the classic Christmas roast dinner, with pulled hog roast complemented with a soft herb stuffing, topped with pancetta, mozzarella, rosemary, oregano and pine kernels, and finished with fresh parsley.
The new Cauliflower Cheese Romana features a combination of roasted cauliflower florets, pecorino cheese, mozzarella, pink Tropea onions and garlic toppings are assembled on a cheese and mustard sauce base, and finished with fresh parsley and a sprinkle of Gran Milano cheese.
In addition, the option of the Cauliflower E Carne Romana is also available, which brings a touch of salty pancetta to the recipe.
For desserts, PizzaExpress is bringing out the Pannetone Cheesecake: a twist on the traditional Italian dish, which boasts chocolate chip and orange marmalade panettone pieces in a creamy vanilla cheesecake, all topped on a thick and buttery biscuit base. Served with a choice of gelato, cream or mascarpone.
Snowball Dough Balls are also on the menu, PizzaExpress’ hot, fluffy Dough Balls are sprinkled with icing sugar and cinnamon and served with a vanilla cream dip.
The new Jaffa Profiteroles are a light and airy creation with a milk chocolate coating, filled with a zingy chocolate cream and orange centre. Served with vanilla and a candied orange slice.
Meanwhile, the new Crochette Manzos feature a hearty combination of pulled beef and chianti creations, served with fresh rocket and complemented with a horseradish and crème fraiche sauce for dipping. There is also the Terrina Festa, a mixture of oak-roasted salmon, crab and prawn served with rocket, the PizzaExpress house dressing, a wedge of lemon and warm flat breads.
To wash it all down, the creamy Chambord Kiss, a blend of Bailey’s Irish Cream and Chambord, or the warm Mulled Sloe Gin, highlight the cocktail selection on this year’s festive menu.
