Pret A Manger launches its first vegan cheese sandwiches
This is also the first time the restaurant to use a cheese alternative for its menu.
For the first time, Pret A Manger will launch two new vegan cheese sandwiches for its menu.
The restaurant said that the new menu items are aimed at vegans, flexitarians, or those just looking to try something new. The vegan cheese sandwiches are part of Pret A Manger’s participation in Veganuary.
The new sandwiches are the Spicy No’duja Toasted Focaccia and the Plant-Based Ploughman’s Baguette. Both sandwiches use dairy-free Violife slices, marking the first time that Pret A Manger used a cheese alternative for its offerings. The vegan cheese slices have a hickory smoky rind and are free from dairy, lactose, soya, gluten and preservatives.
The Spicy No’duja Toasted Focaccia contains new toastable focaccia that boasts mushroom No’duja, red pesto, red pepper, fresh basil leaves and Violife’s Smoky Cheddar Slices inside the rosemary bread.
Meanwhile, the Plant-Based Ploughman’s Baguette cheese slices alongside spicy chipotle ketchup, Pret pickle chutney, roasted tomatoes, sliced red onions, and a salad mix.
